Transform in Nature

Forest Walks

Return to source.

A somatic forest walk is a guided, slow-paced journey that invites you out of the chatter of the mind and into the full sensuous presence of your body in relationship with the biosphere. It’s an immersive practice of remembering what it feels like to be woven into the larger body of the earth.

Research affirms that time in nature reduces stress and improves well-being, but on these walks you go even further. You are invited into a felt connection with the living world that loosens the habit of seeing yourself as separate, above, or in control. As you walk with attention, you discover that the world is alive and already speaking to you. By offering your presence, you take a first step in rebuilding a reciprocal and sustainable relationship with nature—one that can transform how you view your own body and consciousness, the wider community of life, and the Indigenous ancestors who lived on this land for millennia before us.

On each walk, I will guide you through simple somatic practices that deepen your access to your senses, your awareness of your body, and your connection with the life that surrounds you in the forest. Over the course of four hours, what begins as an individual experience gradually becomes a communal one, as the forest itself becomes teacher and companion. Many who have joined these walks speak about feeling their senses awakened, their belonging renewed, and their understanding of this land transformed.

Come as you are. No experience is required. Wear comfortable shoes, sun protection, and preferably cover your ankles in case the mosquitos are out. Bring a bottle of water and a willingness to be surprised by what the forest offers. If you are concerned about accessibility, please reach out in advance. Routes and practices can be adjusted to meet a wide range of abilities, and every effort will be made to ensure you are about to participate.
